Juan Rodriguez Identity Campaign/Photo Illustration

For this project, working from a photograph, I designed and created a layered photo illustration depicting Juan Rodriguez, a historical figure from 1600's Manhattan, with no known visual record. I developed the identity campaign for I Am New York: Juan Rodriguez. This live theater installation was performed by Organic Magnetics at El Museo del Barrio in 2014. The image was also used as the visual centerpiece for a ceremony formally dedicating A 59-block stretch of Broadway, between 159th St. in Washington Heights and W. 218th St. in Inwood as "Juan Rodriguez Way" by the City of New York.
